Flashing Red. Kids Ahead. Campaign Promotes School Bus Safety

When school begins next week, Arkansas motorists will begin sharing the roadways with approximately 5,500 school buses. These buses transport about 250,000 students each school day to and from school and school-related activities. Because of this increase in traffic, safety in and around school buses becomes a priority for all motorists.

My Child/My Student Campaign Begins Third Year

State Board of Education Approves English Language Arts and Disciplinary Literacy Standards

The State Board of Education on Friday approved the Arkansas English Language Arts and Arkansas Disciplinary Literacy Standards for grades K-12. Schools may begin implementing the new standards during the 2016-17 school year. Full implementation will occur in the 2017-18 school year.
