Chrissy Hallwachs Named 2013 Arkansas History Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Chrissy Hallwachs, a teacher at Cooper Elementary School in the Bentonville School District! Hallwachs was recently named the 2013 Arkansas History Teacher of the Year.

A reading specialist, Hallwachs believes in the importance of teaching literacy skills in the social studies content area.

The National History Teacher of the Year Award celebrates the teaching of American history in K-12 classrooms. The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History and the Advisory Council on History Preservation sponsor the program.
