The recently revamped ADE Data Center is a collection of system tools and reports for educators, parents or anyone interested in official data from the Department of Education. In addition to serving as the launch page for various R&T project implementations, including the Arkansas Educator Licensure System, Arkansas School Performance Report Card System, and the Arkansas Student Intervention System, the ADE Data Center provides a valuable Contact Person Address Book for the various educational agencies across the state, serves as a repository for archived reports and is the location to access online forms.
The StudentGPS dashboards, an ongoing Research and Technology project, is an innovative instructional tool that will be available for statewide utilization in August 2014. The dashboards compile existing information collected from the various IT systems and deliver the data in intuitive and meaningful data presentations, such as historical graphs and calendar views that can be generated with a single click of the mouse.
The Arkansas Digital Sandbox is a free resource available for all educators and students across the state. The Digital Sandbox is a safe, online environment created specifically for educators and students to collaborate, store and share multimedia projects. The Digital Sandbox is password protected and allows educators and students the ability to collaborate in a safe, secure learning environment.
Arkansas is one of many educational institutions making instructional content available for free through iTunes U. The library includes digital resources for teachers, students and the public - all created by Arkansas teachers, state educational partners and the Arkansas Department of Education. David Nance’s Spanish courses, which are constantly topping the iTunes most frequently downloaded chart, also are available. If iTunes is installed on your desktop or the iTunes U app is on your iPad, explore our library in iTunes.
A NEW PROCESS FOR PROGRESS - Research and Technology understands that engaging with stakeholders to gather input is critical in the design and development of new systems. Stakeholder engagement sessions are constantly impacting the future and direction of ongoing and upcoming projects.
Wanting more access to your student’s information? Triand, the state’s official transcript system, offers the option for districts to generate a free Smart Core Report, a report that will provide parent access to transcript information, GPA data, ACT scores, assessment information and demographic information via an authorization code. For more information, see the tutorial on the ADE Data Center:
The Statewide Information System is a web-based system developed by the Research and Technology Division to enable school districts to submit and certify data to the state. The system has the capability to pull data from various source systems like StudentPlus/eSchoolPlus and FinancePlus on a nightly, as well as on-demand, basis.
The ADE State Data Warehouse is built on the IBM ®Business Intelligence (BI) software and Cognos® platform and is used by Arkansas to meet the state, cooperative, district and school-level data reporting needs. Cognos® provides business intelligence reporting on live (transactional) student and financial information systems, as well as longitudinal reporting on state and district data warehouses through its Educational Performance Management System. The state data warehouse is updated nine times a year through the Statewide Information System. The district warehouse is updated monthly.
