About Us

The curriculum and assessment section provides guidance to local education agencies on special education curriculum development and statewide assessment guidelines. This section offers resources on developing standards-based Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and information on assessment options and accommodations.

The Special Education Unit works collaboratively with other units within the Arkansas Department of Education to improve performance on statewide accountability measures and the Arkansas Academic Standards.
