Governor's All-Region and All-State Coding Competition

On September 7, 2016, Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced Arkansas’s first All-Region and All-State Coding Competition sponsored by Verizon open to Arkansas public and private school students in grades 8-12 and homeschooled students born on or before August 1, 2003, and after August 1, 1998.

This Arkansas Department of Education webpage is the official location to find competition information including locations, dates, times, rules, registration process, updates, and results.

Krista Bourne, president of the South Central Market for Verizon, presented Gov. Asa Hutchinson a $40,000 contribution to sponsor the competition.

All-Region Competition Packet with Questions and Challenges - these were the questions and challenges that teams were asked to solve during the 2016 All-Region Competition

Date: Monday, November 7, 2016

Time: Competition time 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. (teams will need to check in by 9 a.m.)

Eight Regional Locations:

  • Hall High School (LRSD) will host all teams from the Jacksonville North Pulaski School District, Little Rock School District, North Little Rock School District, and Pulaski County Special School District
  • Northwest Educational Service Cooperative (NW-ESC) will host all teams from districts within the NW-ESC and Guy Fenter ESC areas
  • Northcentral ESC (NC-ESC) and Ozarka College will host all teams from districts within the NC-ESC and Ozark Unlimited Resource ESC areas
  • Arch Ford ESC will host all teams from districts within the Arch Ford and Wibur Mills ESC areas
  • Northeast ESC (NE-ESC) will host all teams from districts within the NE-ESC and Crowley's Ridge ESC areas
  • Arkansas River ESC (AR-ESC) will host all teams from districts within the AR-ESC, Great Rivers, and Southeast ESC areas
  • Dawson ESC will host all teams from districts within the Dawson and DeQueen-Mena ESC areas
  • Southwest ESC (SW-ESC) will host all teams from districts within the SW-ESC and Southcentral ESC areas
