Iowa Assessments

The Iowa Assessments (IA) is administered to students in grades 1 - 2. The IA is a norm-referenced test covering reading comprehension and mathematics problem solving. The entire test is multiple-choice.

Norm-referenced testing measures an individual student’s performance in comparison to a nationwide group of students. The IA is based on percentile, not percentage.
