TESS for Specialty Areas

The Teacher Excellence and Support System will be the system by which all Arkansas’ educators are evaluated beginning in the 2014-2015 school year. Classroom teachers of record, as well as, contributing professionals working in specialty areas will receive professional practice ratings based on performance according to the appropriate TESS rubric. Specialty rubrics have been developed for the following positions:

Each rubric is specifically designed to evaluate educators who work in these positions. The rubrics outline the criteria for observations and levels of performance on which each educator’s evaluation will be based. The evaluation forms for each of the rubrics will be accessed through BloomBoard, Arkansas’ observation evaluation data system. All educators and administrators will receive training on the new system during the summer of 2014 and utilize BloomBoard to conduct and participate in the evaluation process.
