Educator Preparation

The Educator Preparation Unit at the Arkansas Department of Education is responsible for approving programs of study that lead to licensure for pre-school through grade 12 teachers, administrators and other school personnel.  

State-Approved Educator Preparation Programs at Arkansas Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs)

Colleges and universities included in the following links have been approved by the ADE to offer education preparation programs. These education preparation programs must reside in professional education units accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and comply with state standards.  The Specific areas and levels of licensure offered by each institution are indicated.
