Preliminary allocations are published in August of each year. These are estimated federal awards that provide a beginning amount for budgeting purposes. Allocations are revised mid-school year to include changes to the overall state grant at the federal level, current year student data for newly opening or significantly expanding open-enrollment charter schools, and any prior year allocation that must be redistributed. Allocations may also be revised at other times throughout the year to account for significant changes. When final allocations are complete, a grant award notification is sent to each LEA.
