Effective August 1, 2017, an educator who retires (whether or not the educator is age 62) may request a Lifetime Teaching License.

The Lifetime Teaching License may be requested by submitting an Online Application to the Office of Educator Licensure, providing written verification of educational experience and completing the required State Police, FBI and Child Maltreatment Central Registry background checks.

However, until the online application is changed, a person who is retired but under age 62 will have to complete a paper application,
