Gov. Asa Hutchinson and Arkansas Department of Education Commissioner Johnny Key announced the R.I.S.E. (Reading Initiative for Student Excellence) Arkansas initiative on January 26 at the State Capitol. R.I.S.E. Arkansas will build a culture of reading through stakeholder collaboration and provide additional instructional support to current and future teachers. Among the attendees were students from MLK Magnet Elementary School who each received a book provided by ADE and adults who were pictured with books that they like to share.
