Parental Involvement Online Professional Development

This half-hour parental involvement course features Jonathan Crossley, 2014 Arkansas Teacher of the Year. Mr. Crossley discusses chronic absenteeism and suggests strategies that teachers can use to help students be successful. In addition, Mr. Crossley addresses the underlying meaning of chronic absenteeism and why it matters. He also offers suggestions for teachers as they communicate with parents about the importance of regular school attendance among students.
 
To complete a course and obtain a certificate of completion for ADE-approved online professional development courses, review and study the lessons, take and pass the assessment at mastery level of 80 percent or higher, and complete the survey.
